Deputy Project Manager for RACF Project

Detailed description of work task to be carried out

The Project Manager will support the Project Lead in the execution of the RACF Access Control, Onboarding & Clean-up track. The role will be responsible for day-to-day delivery activities and management of project delivery teams (14 FTE in total), driving progress, defining approaches and processes in close collaboration with the RACF Integration Team and other IAM/Mainframe experts, facilitate effective stakeholder engagement with business and line organization, all to ensure timely delivery of key milestones. The position will also play a central role in identifying, qualifying, and implementing automation opportunities that improve the project delivery efficiency and accelerate time to completion. 

Support and act as an Deputy of the RACF Project Leader in planning, coordinating, and executing project activities.
Drive progress across Business Delivery (BD) teams and ensure delivery against agreed timelines and milestones.
Facilitate daily project team standups, focused (virtual) workshops, and ad-hoc stakeholder meetings.
Maintain action and decision logs and project documentation
Drive accountability for actions and commitments across participating project stakeholders
Track project risks, issues, dependencies, and actions, escalating where appropriate.
Maintain project progress trackers for and prepare status reports, presentations for management
Support project governance processes and reporting requirements
Develop recommendations for automation opportunities and manage implementation activities

 

Must-have knowledge and experience

• Proven experience managing or coordinating projects within banking, financial services, or other regulated environments.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to drive delivery, manage priorities, and resolve obstacles in complex projects.
• Experience identifying and implementing process improvement and automation opportunities.
• Strong understanding of project governance, reporting, and risk management practices.
• Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and access control processes.
• Familiarity with RACF or mainframe security environments is highly desirable.
• Understanding of regulatory, audit, and risk management requirements within financial institutions.
• Experience with process analysis, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and coordination capabilities.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to influence without direct authority and drive accountability across teams.
• Results-oriented with strong attention to detail and execution discipline.
